In 1977, young designer and publisher Wolfgang Hölker took over a traditional publishing house Coppenrath and turned it into the most well known children books publisher in Germany. 

“I have to be proud of each book I publish,” says Wolfgang Hölker.  With this philosophy, he creates a large number of successful children books with educational stories and superior graphic quality.  Characters like Felix the rabbit, Princess Lillifee, the friendly pirate Capt’n Sharky, Lovely Seven, and Moon Bear have not only made it big in Coppenrath books, but also have become a part of every child’s life by appearing as Spiegelburg products, such as plush toys, a variety of stationary and school items, travel luggage and accessories, clothing and textile products, and from simple educational puzzles to complex parlor games. 

“We create a whole world around a book”, exclaims Wolfgang Hölker, who continues to create new product ranges like the Horse Friends, Joe Mo, outdoor adventure equipment with Felix, furniture for children’s rooms, books and products for pregnant mommies and new born babies, gift items for seasonal festivals and special occasions, even fashionably designed products for teenagers and the young at heart. 

Spiegelburg and Coppenrath products are now sold in about four thousand department stores, toy stores, lifestyle and gift shops, bookstores, and even food-markets all over the world.  The well known characters in the books are associated only with brand-name products of the highest quality.  Felix has his own TV animation series about his travel adventures through time and space; his feature length animation movies have been shown on CCTV's Movie Channel during children's prime time on Sunday, and will be re-run in the near future. Princess Lillifee likewise has feature length animation movies and TV series. Her movie will be shown on CCTV Children Channel in the near future. Lillifee also has her own computer games, music CDs, magazines, children's dancing show on TV and a popular stage musical playing to sold-out audiences in Europe.
